Orlando, FL - 2008 National School-Age Championships were held in Orlando, Florida at the Wide World of Sports at Disney World on Friday, June 20 thru Sunday, June 22.

Coastal Empire lifter, Tayler Jakubsen won gold in the 13 & Under age division, 69+kg weight division with a 75kg snatch and 95kg clean and jerk, he led the 13 & under men's division, winning the Best Male Lifter award.

Coastal Empire Weightlifting (CEW) had several medalists.  Erica Hall, age 13, won the bronze medal in the 35kg division with her award winning 53kg total. Chandler (CJ) Harper brought home a bronze medal also from his first national championship competition.  CJ went five for six, snatching 45kg, clean & jerking 57kg for a 102kg total in his first national championship competition.

Andrew Jakubsen, age 8yrs, took 5th place snatching 23kg, clen & Jerking 32kg for a 55kg total in the 13 & Under 39kg division  

Zack Harper placed 6th in the 13 & Under, 39kg division with his 22kg snatch and 32kg clean & jerk, totaling 54kg 

Competitor Sam Wies, also competted in the men's 13&Under, 35kg division, finishing 7th with his 42kg total.

CEW's, Wilson Cobb, age 14 ,  made his first national appearance, going five for six in his lifts for an 11th place finish with his 92kg total.  Robert Cassiday, competed in the 16-17yr age group, 77kg division.  Robert snatched 75kg, clean & jerked a personal record of 111kg for a 186kg total.
